Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026 Ireland · GDPR · Data Protection Act 2018

Medical disclaimer: This tool is a pre-screening aid only. It does not constitute a clinical assessment, diagnosis, or prescription. All treatment decisions are made by a registered pharmacist during a face-to-face consultation. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 112 or 999.

The short version

We do not collect your name, date of birth, address, email, phone number, or any other personal information.
We use privacy-first, cookieless analytics that cannot identify you — see section 3.
Your answers never leave your device. Triage logic runs entirely in your browser.
You are completely anonymous at all times.
We do not share any information with third parties. There is no information to share.

1. Who we are

pharmacycheck.org is a free, anonymous eligibility screening tool for the HSE Common Conditions Service, built and managed by an Irish pharmacist. It is operated as a non-commercial public health resource.

This tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by the HSE, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI), or any pharmacy group.

2. What data we collect — and what we don't

We collect nothing that could identify you. This is not a policy choice — it is how the tool is technically built.

The triage questions and logic run entirely inside your browser. Your answers are processed on your device only, held temporarily in working memory, and never transmitted to any server. Everything disappears the moment you close the tab.

We do not collect or store:

3. Cookies and analytics

This website uses no cookies of any kind, and does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising or tracking scripts.

We do use a privacy-first analytics tool called Umami to see basic, aggregate usage — for example, how many people visit the site, which of the 8 conditions get checked, and whether a check ends in "eligible" or "referred to GP". Umami does not use cookies or local storage, and does not collect your name, IP address, or any other personal data. To count unique visits, it generates a temporary, salted identifier from technical data that is automatically rotated (reset) every month, so visits cannot be linked together over time or traced back to you.

This analytics data is never combined with your triage answers, which — as explained in section 2 — are never transmitted to any server in the first place.

Because this analytics method does not use cookies and cannot identify individual visitors, no cookie consent banner is required under Irish and EU law.

4. Web server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) may temporarily log standard technical data such as the URL requested, date/time, and HTTP response code. These are not linked to individual users or triage sessions. Vercel's privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

5. Legal basis and GDPR

Because this tool does not process any personal data — including the privacy-first analytics described in section 3, which cannot identify individual visitors — most GDPR obligations do not apply. We cannot fulfil subject access requests, deletion requests, or data portability requests because we hold no data linked to any individual.

Your anonymity is not a setting — it is structurally guaranteed by how the tool is built.

6. Third-party services

7. Children and minors

This tool can be used on behalf of children by a parent or guardian. No personal data is collected. Children under 16 should use this tool with the assistance of a parent or guardian.

8. Medical disclaimer

This tool is a pre-screening aid only. It does not constitute a clinical assessment, diagnosis, or prescription. All clinical decisions are made solely by a registered pharmacist during a face-to-face consultation. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 112 or 999.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

10. Protocol version control

Clinical protocols used in this tool follow the official HSE Common Conditions Service guidelines. Protocol source: HSE Common Conditions Service
